False Alarm

I haven’t blogged in a while, primarily because there isn’t much to tell, but also because it is summer, and I live on a farm. Summer on a farm is not a vacation. It’s much better this year since my husband is home, but still a lot of work to be done. I have been writing and editing in the wee hours of the morning, but not working on the website as regularly. I’ll try to add some more stories soon. I decided to add a blog today because last week I had a very exciting moment, that unfortunately turned out to be not such an exciting moment. I went out to get the mail one afternoon and found a letter from my agent. An unexpected letter from my agent. My heart immediately began pounding and I’m certain that my fingers trembled a bit as I opened the letter…to find an amendment to my contract. <sigh> Well, not an offer for my book, but a thoughtful clarification on the part of my agent, so not all bad. This means though that I am still waiting. Maybe this is not blog worthy, but it’s the best I’ve got right now.

In the meantime we have a new calf on the farm, Jasmine the Jersey, whose story will be added soon to the farm blog, and we’ve had a fair amount of company, which is always exciting. I’m 12,000 words into the first typed draft of my new book, which I have tentatively given the title Searcher. All in all, life is rolling right along…no moss gathering here!
