TV Gods Anthology is Available!

TV Gods CoverA little over a year ago, one of my favorite science fiction authors asked if I would be interested in submitting a story for an anthology. Naturally, I said yes!

Shortly thereafter I received an invitation from one of the anthology’s editors, met the minds behind Fortress Publishing, Inc. at Balticon last May, and, finally, submitted a story.

The theme is very specific- pick a television show from the 80’s and work in the mythological characters and/or creatures of your choice. Write a story based on said television show in 5,ooo words or less. Oh, and it should probably be humorous. Simple, right?

I admit I was nervous. Nervous about coming up with the best characters, nervous about writing a story that would be good enough to be included, and, to be honest, nervous that people other than my family might pay money for this product and read what I wrote. This is the first story I’ve had formally published, so it’s all new territory.

Now, a little over a year after that initial invitation, the TV Gods anthology is complete and available for purchase! Here’s a link to the book on amazon: TV Gods , and a link to the book on Barnes & Noble: TV Gods.

I’m still a little nervous, but the length of the process has helped to ease that somewhat. Now I’m more excited to read everyone’s stories and see what happens.

The authors include: Jeff Young (lead editor), Brian Koscienski and Chris Pisano (authors as well as founders of Fortress Publishing, Inc.), science fiction author James K. Decker, fantasy author Jon Sprunk, Kelly Silverman Metz, Caw Miller, Eric Hardenbrook, Cliff Ackman, Dawn Griffin, Michael D’Ambrosio, Elektra Hammond, Christine Czachur, Patrick Thomas, Mike Silvestri, KT Pinto, James Chambers, Jim Lewin, Nicky Wagman, and Kevin M. Hayes. *Sorry to anyone I forgot and THANK YOU to all the artists whose names I don’t have at the moment.

The number one reason I’m thankful to be included in this project is that I’ve had a chance to meet several of the authors and they’re not only talented writers, but great people.

So, if classic television combined with mythology appeals to you, you should check out TV Gods. If you do, I’d love to know what you think! See if you can identify the show that each story is based on. I think this collection will be a lot of fun, hopefully you do as well.
